Progress is mainly refractoring junk code, moving stuff around to sensible locations and my favourite, deleting stuff :-)

The idea rattling round in my head is Robotron meets Ancipital.

SPLEENWEEVIL contains a bunch of hacky, quickly thrown together, 'my first Godot project' code.
And I've been fighting Godot since the beginning, trying to remain out of the editor and in Visual Studio as much as possible...

Writing your own 'engine' is a ton of work. I love the gameplay code but collisions, physics, rendering is such a time sink!

I'm going to pivot to @godotengine.org again for the new thing.

No matter how many times I try to turn off this Microsoft AI nonsense, they always find new ways to annoy me.

I just want to type some words and occasionally browse the API using good old fashioned intellisense.

Don't clutter my doc, don't capture keystrokes, just display the text FFS 🤬

Started the particle system. I'm hoping I can do 99% of it all on the GPU, pretty much compute all the way.
We have a few effects here (1) hit sparks (2) muzzle flash, which contains a couple of emitters currently.

I really like the (pure) #ECS style design, not for the reported speed benefits, mostly for the way I can structure the program. It's just one flat list of systems.
