Hand-tracked statistics, highlights and news from the CHL. Lots of coverage for draft-eligibles and NHL prospects with a slight #Canadiens bias. I track PIGS 🐷 (Production Independent Game Score)

Hey it wasn’t the best period of hockey of all time, but at the very least it was watchable

There’s a bit in yesterday’s 32 Thoughts where Elliotte comments on the rumoured USHL/CHL merger. He says he feels it is very unlikely but that the NHL has made it clear that it will be looking for solutions to protect Junior hockey in the states.

Ben Kindel has played 19:52, 20:48, and 22:22 in the last 3 games. In that stretch he's got 2 goals, 2 assists, 10 shots on goal, and 6 high danger chances. With him on the ice the Penguins have 67% of the shots, 67% of the chances, and 58% of the xG. Pretty good

Some reporting here that Flyers’ front office would like for Luchanko to be traded to Brantford after his reassignment to the OHL

Penguins have made it official! 2025 11th overall pick Ben Kindel will stick at the NHL level in his D+1 season. Way to go Ben!

It’s decision time for Kindel, Sennecke and Parekh as all three have hit 9GP. From a very quick temperature check in each markets’ media, it looks like each is expected to stick in the NHL despite mixed results early on

Flyers’ 1st rounder Jett Luchanko has been reassigned to OHL Guelph after four largely ineffectual games in the NHL. Luchanko should be among one of the biggest names available at this year’s OHL trade deadline

The Oscar Hemming situation is straight up bizarre. Poised to be one of the CHL’s top draft-eligible players, but he’s yet to play this season. His Liiga club is refusing to release his rights. This week, the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the BCHL announce the signing of Hemming, no further details

Michael Misa in the right place at the right time to put home his first NHL goal. Now has 3 points in his first 4.33 games for the Sharks
October 26, 2025 at 10:57 PM
Decision time quickly approaching for Ben Kindel, Beckett Sennecke, and Zayne Parekh. If they continue to draw into every game, they will each hit 9GP at some point next week.

If I had to guess, Sennecke sticks, the other two are reassigned.

After 3 games and 4 healthy scratches for the Predators, Brady Martin will return to the Soo Greyhounds. He didn’t play much but decisively won his minutes. Has the potential for a huge OHL season

16 CHL players have been given an ‘A’ grade by Central Scouting. Strictly based on public preliminary rankings, the surprises would be Brantford’s Caleb Malholtra and Oshawa’s Brooks Rogowski. JP Hurlbert is also an A, but no one’s surprised given the start he’s had.
