The study was led in collaboration between PHI's @trackingca.bsky.social, an independent public health consultant and researchers from @ucberkeleyofficial.bsky.social. The researchers found OP #pesticides were still applied near tens of thousands of #pregnant Californians in 2021.

The @trackingca.bsky.social #study examined #newborn screening data from more than 94,000 Californians identified with #SCT at birth between 1991-2013, and mortality records linked to these data and found that children with SCT had significantly higher #mortality rates in early and middle childhood.
