Not sure - I will check with my Dad though as he is still around. somewhere he has a wax seal that he created from the actual gem . Created many years ago before it went on display at British Museum.

The two ruled as co-Emperors as they were adoptive brothers of Antoninus Pius, with Lucius' reign only lasting between 161 AD and 169 AD before his death. Lucius Verus was married to Lucilla, another character from Gladiator.

Yes this is the same Lucius Verus that #Gladiator film eludes to. Interestingly, there were two prominent Lucius Verus'. The first was Emperor Lucius Verus, who ruled alongside Gladiator's Marcus Aurelius.

The counterseals were used to secure the authenicity of documents. These two seals are among the finest surviving gem portraits of the Roman emperors Antoninus Pius reigned AD 138-161 (left) and Lucius Verus, reigned AD 161-9 (right)
