Roman Art from the front of a Sarcophagus of unknown provenance. 160-170 AD . Was walled into the east facade of the Palazzina. Restored and hung in Galleria Borghese in the 1800's. Figures represent five of the twelve labours that Eurystheus imposed on Hercules. #ReliefWednesday #History #Rome

From a rough peperino sarcophagus buried in a Tomb from the Ancient city of Lanuvium south of Rome. This Bronze armour, weapons & athletic equipment belonged to a Military Commander from c 475 BC . Greek Cultural Influence . Museo Nazionale Romano. #AncientBluesky #archaeology #Rome #History

Old photo of a Medieval seal . Found by my Dad on a field in Billericay , Essex with his metal detector. Both Farmer and Dad agreed to donate to #BritishMuseum. You can still find this on display within British history 1200-1300 section. #History #AncientBluesky #Archaeology
