if you express to someone that you feel they’re forcing you to have sex with them (the word for that is rape, by the way), and they repeatedly continue trying to fuck you later that night, that person is a sexual predator. if you didn’t know that, now you do!
November 8, 2025 at 9:27 PM
you’re lying. everything i said is taken from the report of her account. these are direct quotes: “he wouldn’t let her move away from him”; “i said i don’t want to feel forced”; [after the ‘forced’ comment:] “he kissed her again, stuck his fingers down her throat again, and moved to undo her pants”

in addition to physically trying to escape him, she told him, “I don’t want to feel forced because then I’ll hate you”. then he forcibly shoved his fingers inside her again multiple times. if you express to someone that you feel like they’re forcing you into sex, that’s a pretty clear “no”!

they’re trying to give my hands RSIs too but so what? i’ll type with my germy tongue if i have to

else wtf. this premise is incredibly good!!! i need to read this story so badly 😭

the last time i heard the word “cissexual” in real life was when my best friend was joking about how they’ve picked up several human testicles from pathology departments for friends despite not wanting any surgeries themself. our differences can be the very source of solidarity if we let them
November 1, 2025 at 9:25 AM
i was just responding to where you said that only terms created neutrally are okay (“not bad”, as i put it), using “transgender” as a counterexample. my saying we use a lot of terms that weren’t created neutrally isn’t to say that every term with an ugly origin is okay. squares/rectangles/etc.
November 1, 2025 at 9:18 AM
sry, i’m unfamiliar with that phrase, validity bomb
November 1, 2025 at 9:14 AM
i’m not wedded to any of this terminology. if we had better words to describe these very real and sometimes pertinent distinctions, i’d prefer them. but coinage is hard, and it seems like a lot of people hate the act of distinguishing itself, which saddens me as someone who loves all our differences
November 1, 2025 at 9:13 AM
genuinely curious: were you on tumblr in the 2010s? i cannot tell you how vehemently people hated being considered allosexual. incandescent rage. the discourse was incredibly ugly. people genuinely felt deeply hurt. as sad as it is, that’s often how these things go.
November 1, 2025 at 9:13 AM
yes, and 1960s sexology literature is not a morally or politically neutral place for a term describing a vibrant community of human beings to have been coined, no matter how usual that kind of literature was. normal doesn’t mean neutral
November 1, 2025 at 8:59 AM
presupposing that the distinction is solidarity-breaking as a way to argue that it will break solidarity is just question begging. a thousand times as much internet rage has been volleyed over the asexual/allosexual distinction but that didn’t cause the queer community to fall apart
November 1, 2025 at 8:57 AM
respectfully, i can’t believe you consider a coining within a book called “Sexual Hygiene and Pathology” alongside subjects such as “sexual deviations”, “abnormal sex behavior in children”, and “fetishism” a neutral coining. not maximally bad? sure. but far from neutral!
November 1, 2025 at 8:53 AM
the term “transgender” was coined by a cis sexologist in a book he wrote about “sexual deviations” and “sexual pathology” who at best considered us pitiable freaks of nature. unfortunately a lot of the terms we use in the trans community have ignominious origins. i wish that weren’t the case
November 1, 2025 at 8:38 AM
you’re right that some people use the term to derogate, and i think that’s wrong. but that doesn’t mean the term itself is bad! anyone could pull a million examples of ppl saying “zoomers are brainrotted idiots” or whatever, but again, that doesn’t mean all generational distinctions are bad
November 1, 2025 at 8:28 AM
if there were currently a heated platform-wide discourse on generational distinctions, i’m sure searching the word “millennial” would beget a lot of intensely emotional posts about how millennials are either v annoying or v persecuted. that doesn’t mean generational distinctions are inherently bad
November 1, 2025 at 8:12 AM
probably true of anything they pee on tbh
November 1, 2025 at 7:41 AM
one of the 1st times i ever spent time with other trans ppl was at the CMC a decade ago. one of my fondest memories. haven’t heard that name in so long ‧⁺◟( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ ·̫ ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ )

your thoughts on nihilism & transness & difference have been a breath of fresh air to read today btw, thx

is having the words "gay" and "straight" harmful bc it might discourage straight ppl from realizing they're actually gay? should we never distinguish between "trans" and "cis" for the same reason? do gender distinctions themselves — "man", "woman", "nonbinary" — also constitute harmful language?
October 28, 2025 at 11:00 PM
correct me if i'm wrong, it sounds like your concern is that using words to distinguish physically transitioning & non-physically transitioning ppl will discourage the latter from realizing they're really the former. but couldn't that concern apply to many common subdivisions of social categories?
