my guilty autumn pleasure is to visit the local orchard and inject helium into all the trees

the moon macchiating river skin licks me as helicopter searchings tonight, stadium speaker brawn gawping over water as posse siccings. a duck family saw my light and thought i’d kill them as i approached. but i don’t think anyone needs to do that, to anyone

a good mech name exudes neotenous insecurity: bravadic desperation, clownish self-effacement, pretension, deathlust. the moment you put on that big stupid coffin of an outfit you remember what you once feared to lose

one of my favorite things is a pair of epigraphs in juxtaposition (i’m always saying this 🥴). this from Underland by @robgmacfarlane.bsky.social goes so fucking hard

oh, that’s so cool! reminds me of these beautifully clear decellularized spinach leaves they use as vascular scaffolds for tissue engineering

seriously tho lmk if there are any publications you enjoy (tiny indie litmags included) that publish “dark scifi” or might otherwise be into a brutally violent story about childhood, disability, labor, & various beautiful effluents!!

i feel you. i sometimes wished it were more like 75:25 drama:humor rather than 50:50. but some of the jokes did have me unexpectedly cackling, like this bit with LeBlanc

play Norco. do you like cyberpunk? do you like ecofiction? gnostic /pol/ cults? corpoespionage? genetic jesus? laughing? dying of cancer? trying to save an autistic failson from a ravening horde of autistic failsons? clutching your mother’s corpse as it sinks in the bayou? please, play Norco

i saw her on the way to my FFS consult today and she sold what surgeons can’t. my worst friend held me back from plugging auger into mandible and sucking slurry. from oblating orbits to the casual reciprocation of her tread. from begging her to let my masseters drape, well as louche and long as hers

if you’re near boston, come to the Model tonight at 8pm to hear @mayadeane.bsky.social, Adeline Wong, and me (w/ @robotleblanc.bsky.social as MC) read from our Embodied Exegesis stories and in the process collectively reinscribe cyberpunk as a subgenre of trans comedy

ugly guns are granted the spark of life by the god of small things upon creation. they have subjective experiences and make uncommonly rational decisions

behold: a wily clearcape disarms the clutch of spring traps that litter the jewelgyre of an inattentive fuzzion duchess. by the time the patterer returns from the olde hivey opera, all her chewy ringdents may be gone as gold

if you wanna mail something in my small massachusetts town you have to use this nighttime mailbox. anytime before nautical dusk (civil dusk if the cops like you) and they kill you on the spot. but the letters get mailed with extra power. it’s like attaching blackmail but it’s legal and supraethical

My first full-length story in five years, A Canyon of Blood for the Normalest Man Alive, sits alongside a slew of strange new cyberpunk lit in Embodied Exegesis. It’s a comedy, but it might be the most honest thing I’ve written. I hope you like it. Here's an excerpt and a dedication 🩸
