This is correct. Before the vote, McCarthy blamed Dems for everything; after losing, McCarthy immediately bragged that he offered Dems nothing. There's no upside to Dems doing McCarthy a favor and letting the GOP look normal while he runs stuff like the a baloney impeachment against Biden.
