Good point.

It is. The issue here is that it was disclosed by a “friend” of his and within the context of his behavior which is pretty public. We don’t know what he’s on, but it does seem that he is abusing something. And it’s a legitimate concern when a person is being granted powers over citizens’ affairs.

He can’t control the masses. People can choose to stop listening to him. As a matter of fact, him being so loud and getting all kinds of negative attention is a good thing.
December 5, 2024 at 10:58 PM
It is public and maybe that’s a good thing for the people. Imagine all that quiet lobbying achieves.
December 5, 2024 at 10:56 PM
You really can’t compare your very specific situation with anyone else’s. In any clinic you might have 100 people using the same drug all with different results, side effects, reactions. It’s not useful to compare.

He little can’t control what people think but he has the ability to get his ideas heard and to lobby congress. That people seem not to be aware that we have been lobbied all this time by many other lobbying bodies is concerning. This problem didn’t start with Musk.
December 5, 2024 at 10:47 PM
Like any other lobbying body.
December 5, 2024 at 9:57 PM
He has the power to lobby, that’s it. But he has no office. A new office and cabinet position with actual power to change laws and budgets would have to be approved by congress first.
December 5, 2024 at 9:43 PM
What office? Musk doesn’t hold any office.

Yum!

Agreed!

I don’t know who coined it. But how we used it back in the day was to address to a group of people gender neutrally, i.e. “amigx” “compañerxs” “doctorxs” etc. Now the e is used. I don’t mind it if it helps shorten the amount of letters I use in texts or social media.

I don’t find it hypocritical. Every year is record breaking because people use credit cards. It doesn’t mean that the economy is doing better for working people. It means the only pleasure they have is owning useless stuff.

This is a good article

That’s why caveats are necessary when sharing information in social media. Can you imagine how many people come for a diagnosis with one single trait or symptom and can’t identify one recent specific incident when the issue happened? It’s happening a lot with DID.
November 30, 2024 at 9:56 PM
It happens in about 40% of the population if I remember correctly. But it’s also high when the person is diagnosed with another mental health disorder. I wouldn’t doubt that it’s also very high in people with PTSD.
November 30, 2024 at 9:52 PM
This is exactly what I mean. That any one trait or symptom by itself is not enough diagnose any disorder. That’s the sentence I need.
November 30, 2024 at 9:48 PM
Instead of asking about the evidence I should have said that it’s important to clarify that delayed response, alexithymia and other symptoms and traits within asd occur with other disorders too.
November 30, 2024 at 9:37 PM
I don’t doubt the experience of people on the spectrum, I’m concerned about how information is delivered and how the general public uses or misuses information. I have many neurodivergent traits but I’m not on the spectrum. And as you know many symptoms and traits overlap with other disorders.
November 30, 2024 at 9:32 PM
So the more accurate statement might to include a caveat that these characteristics are not exclusive of asd, but are also found in depression, anxiety and other disorders.
November 30, 2024 at 3:27 PM
I would absolutely not doubt your experience. The problem is how information is presented. Emotional delayed response and alexithymia are also characteristic of depression and anxiety among other disorders.

I saw a brown guy walk by dresses as John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever.

I’m a bilingual therapist of color that chose to work with underprivileged populations in community mental health. Paying 5k for a training would suggest affect my household budget.
