My best guess is a combination of elite echo-chamber radicalisation and opposition-brain, i.e. an inability to take a more strategic perspective on an issue over and above the easiest course of action in the moment, in this case BBC-bashing

Obviously there are some constituencies that YP might be able to reach, i.e. the less socially liberal constituencies where 'Gaza independents' did well but beyond that they're very mush fishing in the same pond

Also some anecdata - my younger family members who were all aboard the Corbyn train are currently more enthusiastic about the Greens and Zach Polanski, sense is that Corbyn did his best and time to move on
