I retired from Aecom, the lead engineer on the White House demolition. So glad that I’m not there to hear their BS rationalization for destroying it.

We need to make these assholes infamous.
Clark Construction, McCrery Architects, and AECOM for their willingness to illegally demolish The White House without Approval from Congress and the National Capital Planning Commission

I was on a tour bus in Scotland recently. Canadians and Australians on the bus were adamant that they would never set foot in the U.S. again. Can you blame them?

Cancelled Disney Plus and Hulu this morning. Anything to feel a little less helpless.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was the first movie I went to see more than once (3 times) in a movie theater. Robert Redford was the only man who could share a screen with Paul Newman and be noticed.

Fearless Truth Teller, Stephen Colbert, receives a thunderous standing ovation at the Emmys. 👏👏👏

People are losing their jobs for speaking the truth about Charlie Kirk. It is for that reason that us old folks need to speak out. Go ahead, take away my nonexistent job. I’m blissfully retired.

I still believe that a massive demonstration by people over 65 would be effective. Gunning down grandma and grandpa would not be a good look. Of course, the media would have to cover it. There’s that fly in the ointment.

Knowing that ICE very well may take immigrants who are trying to follow the rules into custody, why oh why are the immigration courts requiring them to appear in person? It’s 2025. There are alternatives.
Kristi Noem on Newsmax makes a great case for people with immigration court hearings to opt to skip them

My heart was with Dershowitz’s Pierogi Guy but Sandwich Guy has it all aflutter. Vive La Carbs!

Time for a little thing called jury nullification.
The DC sandwich guy has been charged with assault for shouting at a CBP officer, throwing a sub into his chest, and then running off.

"I did it. I threw the sandwich," he said while he was being processed.

Federal agents patrolling the mean streets of Georgetown in DC would be hilarious if it weren’t so infuriating. DC is my home town making it doubly infuriating.

Forty years in contracts tells me that many a commercial lease and many a contract (not to mention your social security cost of living increase) are tied to the CPI. What now? Complete chaos.
I want to remind everyone as we discuss the CPI/inflation numbers today, from July 30: "The Bureau of Labor Statistics is reducing or ending the collection of data that is used to calculate the Consumer Price Index." www.nytimes.com/2025/07/30/b...
Cuts to Data Collection May Erode Reliability of Economic Statistics
