Will it work? Probably not. But if you actually believe your rhetoric and want to go down fighting, you use all the tools you have. Otherwise it's just bullshit.
It's damning that zero senators are willing to do that, just like zero senators are willing to call for Schumer to step down as leader.

Buy time for the base's incandescent rage to sink in a little bit, highlight outrageous provisions like the $500k payments and future immunity provisions for investigations into senators, etc.
Basically introduce friction in the process in an effort to change the outcome.

The systemic falsifying of evidence is a huge system-wide scandal that they show no ability to deal with.
I mean just today they blithely decided to start rolling out new roadside drug tests. Incredibly tone-deaf.
Would like to see Luxon and Hipkins deal with their prior uncritical support as well

This isn't an isolated incident: the culture of NZ Police is irredeemably broken. There is also the massive systemic issue of falsifying evidence hanging over the entire service.
Would be good to circle back to Hipkins and Luxon and ask how much confidence they have in the police now...

Someone look up the cost of all the corporate lunches, conferences, etc that Air New Zealand paid for Luxon to attend while he was CEO there...

It would be so easy!
"Chuck Schumer wants to cooperate with Trump and his Republican stooges and sell you out so they can all leave early for a long weekend. But I'm objecting to that. The American people don't get to take off on Thursday, and the least we can do is work as hard as they do"

If I somehow became a senator (this will never happen) with Trump as President and Republicans controlling the Senate, I would just obstruct everything as loudly and publicly as I could.
I'd camp out overnight randomly and force quorum calls, etc. It'd be FUN to obstruct these malignant assholes.

Unfortunately this doesn't mean that same-sex marriage is safe with this Supreme Court. Kim Davis' case was just laughably absurd. But they'll get a less ridiculous case soon, and I'd bet that they overturn Obergefell within the next 4 years...

Look, I agree that it's never going to happen. It's one of many reasons I'm not raising my children in the US.
But it's not because of the size of the country (notably India and China don't have these problems), it's because the US has a cultural fixation on guns that is obscene.

Our Moloch | Garry Wills
The gun is our Moloch. We sacrifice children to him daily—sometimes, as at Sandy Hook, by directly throwing them into the fire-hose of bullets from our protected private killing machines, sometimes by...

The obvious solution is banning weapons like every other country has done in the wake of one of these massacres. And then they don't happen again, shocking how that works...
But no, Chris wanted bipartisanship praise, so he came up with useless nonsense that accomplished nothing.

Party is irredeemable tbh. A couple of primary wins aren't going to fix this level of rot

The thing is, this is actually true. I did Model UN with a bunch of people who went on to work with Democratic politics and they were all the worst teachers-pet ass-kisses back then too

Remember when this asshole saw 20 dead kids in Uvalde and decided to respond with a "gun control" bill that would have done nothing to stop it just so he could get glowing press about his bipartisanship?

Amazing. These people are so self-centered, so dedicated to being good members of their exclusive club, that they'll actively help facilitate something they hate. Or they all actually want this bad deal and are just lying.
Either way, it's no surprise that people despise the Democratic Party...

So much for Van Hollen pretending he would drag out the process. He could do so unilaterally, but he won't. Just like he could call for Schumer's ouster as majority leader, but he won't...
