I was asked for my social media accounts in a job interview a few years ago. I gave a LinkedIn link, but never had a Reddit, Twitter, or Instagram, and deleted my Facebook more than 10 years ago. They accused me of lying. If I ever travel to the USA again I’ll need to make some fake accounts..

I’d please like one for inventing the best word to describe cat behaviour (see my post earlier today on “Felinate”)!

Many people send hateful messages for attention that they don’t get in daily life. The best response is to block and ignore them, don’t read or engage. Mail clients will learn over time.. Some people will always be toxic, but living/loving well and not giving them head space is usually best.

We make some incredible chocolate chocolate chunk cookies here, and the only secret to getting them chewy vs. crunchy/crispy is baking time. Reduce the time by a few minutes and they come out amazingly soft/chewy.

Important note - I am nowhere near an awesome baker, this is just what worked for me!

How do people know if this is real?

How can one assess the value of the data?

Where would one see a message like that? Is that an application screen or a boot loader on the ransomed system, or a web site linked to from it? What’s the malicious actor’s SOP?

Why don’t you provide a 275 character summary of your post here with a link to your site for the full info / article / details? Blue sky isn't meant as a blog for those like you, it‘s meant (IMO) to give quick pieces of information for readers to decide if they want to consume the full deal offsite.

My understanding is that the police should stop / arrest any unidentified masked people with firearms. What stops any random person from walking around doing the same thing? With this apparent high risk issue, why would anyone (Canadian perspective here) want to travel to the states?

Try asking ChatGPT/Codex to develop something for you, or to just maintain a web site’s content. The drift and hallucinations that I’ve seen make me want to go back to web design in vi.

How will you work to repeal their dreadful bill? Most of us on this platform agree that it’s dreadful, and that it should be repealed, but we’re not seeing action plans, just very well marketed statements. Please tell us where and when we can see an action plan. Even an outline to an action plan..

That’s great. It really is. An even greater feature would be pre-tagging them to show people what they are before they tap/click. Paywall? More ads than content? Domain listed in any known malicious lists (like AdGuard lists, Cloudflare, Mimecast, etc.)? Pop ups coming? Links to malware?

Many of your fellow government officials keep saying this. What are you doing about it other than posting publicly? What’s the plan to fix this? The current administration have made it obvious that they don’t care about the law. How and when will you start working on a solution other than outrage?

While I know how to bypass paywalls (see my comment history a month or three back), it would be really nice for those without the funds to pay for 30+ different news sites and not want to bypass them illegitimately to flag/ignore paywalls links.

Feature request: Flag paywall links @bsky.app team!

It was the late 90’s and I forget what Unix variant we were using at the time.

CTRL-ALT-F2 opened a new shell, ps ax | grep -i vi, then kill the process ID.

Go back to CTRL-ALT-F1 and keep working.

Those were good times at a dial up ISP with 1200 bps modems.

This unfortunately describes way too many people when they are presented with information proving them wrong.

Long ago my father once said, “I love being wrong as it allows me to learn and improve. Being wrong enables growth.” I wish more people would adopt that idea.

Maybe when they type their passwords they should.. you know.. use encryption.

How to appeal to young men: Listen to their concerns, make them feel that you’re considering their future, and provide a clear and concise set of policies or a path for them to feel that they will have a future where they matter.

If I don’t win, would it be possible to order a set online to be shipped to you to sign and send you postage to forward them to me afterwards?

If you need any help setting up secure and private wifi / public internet, or video surveillance, holler at me! I’m nowhere close, but can give non-technical people simple instructions to follow and set things up remotely!

Will it be streamed online for those who would watch from afar?

How should one ensure the legitimacy of a third party payment system in such an app?

As much as Apple/Google/Microsoft stores may have their negative aspects, there is a level of trust built that your financial data won’t be stolen due to poor security practices.

Kitty wants more Angry Birds..

Reminder to please post alt text when you have an image of text (or any image).

@bsky.app team, an automated system (AI / bot) to do so would be amazing. Too many of these images lately make using the site and app challenging (unless something is broken for me and I’m not seeing them)..

Best of luck to you. Kitty and I will start reading this weekend! Honestly.. I’ll be reading and she’ll be mostly just doing cat things..

Oh no! There will be less celebratory fireworks! How about we focus on issues like the rising cost of food and necessities, the detainment and kidnapping of people by the US government, the contempt that other countries feel for the US, the efforts to avoid purchasing US products by Canadians, etc..
