Is in fact yes.

Luckily the mortality rate is only 4%?

Can you actually die of a broken heart?
Death by heartbreak doesn't just happen in stories. In real life, severe stress can cause the sometimes-fatal takotsubo syndrome.

So many people have never met a Jew in their lives and they think we are a THIRD OF THE POPULATION!?
This is actually a huge factor in American politics. Americans generally overestimate minority groups and underestimate majority groups by huge margins: today.yougov.com/politics/art...

🧵 This gorgeous pot was inspired by a lost play by Aeschylus, called the Archers (which is one I really wish I'd known about ten years ago, when I made a doc for radio 4 about the links between Greek tragedy and soap opera...).

Sometimes I think I should be better at Greek (I've studied it for 30+ years, after all), and then I am reminded that: enaulon (noun) means a house, home
enaulos (noun) means a channel or water rushing through one, and
enaulos (adj) means 'to a flute', but can also mean 'fresh' or 'living in a den'

Great storage jar! A sphinx poses her quiz questions to a hapless young man, who is so bamboozled that he has lost his balance & is collapsing onto a stool. But the stool has two decorative gorgoneia - lovely old-style ones, with wide mouths and protruding tongues - so they will surely protect him.

Qiu Ying’s painting captures poet Li Bai hosting a spring banquet with his cousins in Peach and Plum Garden, filled with wine and poetry.
Similar themes appear in other works, like Lü Huancheng’s Qing dynasty (1644–1912) version, emphasizing lively character interactions. 1/2

The tale of Kua Fu chasing the sun, from the Shanhaijing (Classic of Mountains and Seas), symbolizes ambition and sacrifice.
This myth warns of overestimating one’s abilities, as Kua Fu’s pursuit of the sun leads to his demise, leaving a legacy of determination and caution.
