Mike Godwin argued that comparisons to Hitler trivialized the Holocaust. I only suggest that identifying similarities is crucial to a society that should -always- be vigilant to patterns and warnings of dangerous trend lines. We honor the victims of the Holocaust by seeking to prevent the next one.

As a reminder to international friends, earlier pressure would have made a difference in slowing Hitler. Capitulation allowed him to expand his power. Please don’t capitulate to Trump, or Vance. The American people aren’t your enemy. But Trump is.

No, US culture is so hyper-individualistic, that many think that our messes are someone else’s problem. That’s why most down here don’t mask, that’s why we have lax polluting laws, that’s why we let corporations and billionaires do what they want. It’s a shame, really.

I really need people to understand that refusing to seat fascists is an antifascist act that protects democracy & is not the same as fascists refusing to seat antifascists to destroy democracy—in the same way that finding a guilty person guilty isn't the same as finding an innocent person guilty.
