I've been obsessed with the idea of a triptych system being used as interludes for the writing. I'm trying it out right now, telling the same myth of creation from three different perspectives with different beliefs and biases, and it's amazing.

You ever get to the point where you're writing and then something jumps out at you and you just have to take step back and realize "I'm writing about myself, my struggles, and I don't really like it" but you're writing good advice to yourself so you keep writing?

I hope I'm not the only one.

The Cloister of Silence: an orphanage, formerly operating on the 4th Level of Hel, long abandoned with rumors of other occupants now roaming the halls, crying for the lost children.

every writer needs a solid nemesis even if that nemesis is decaf coffee.

this is now a decaf coffee hate account.

Visual Representation of the setting, The City of August (done by AI because I have little to no artistic skill, nor the means to hire an artist to do it for me, which I will be doing later).

The structure stands just over 6.5 miles high, with a rough population of 30 million souls contained.

As displayed, Grimoire in the upper left, Seranai in the bottom left, Lirian front and center, Alzira in the upper right, and Rhalis in the bottom right.

These are the primary protagonistic characters of The Quiet Pain of a Shattered God.

Hi I'm in this post, and I don't like it
me: oohohohoh, this book is going to be so good! so good when im done!
narrators voice: Vincent failed to consider that in order for a book to be finished...they have to be actively working on it.

I haven't gotten to play Doom: The Dark Ages yet, but just as a general rule regarding the soundtrack:

If you see the artist card on Spotify and it's a collection of four men who look like accountants, your ears are going to melt. Most brutal soundtrack for a video game every committed to tape.

Lirian's outfit for the "Interludes" chapters (working title: The Triptych) in The Quiet Pain of a Shattered God

One of my favorite things about writing is being able to describe clothing or outfits. I think it gives the world a much more tactile feel.

Finally finished a tone rewrite for The Quiet Pain of a Shattered God! Moving into a interlude scene, and then starting Act III of 4! Excited to explore this world a bit more. #fantasywriters #worldbuilding #TQPOASG

Fell into a little bit of writer's block for the past week or so, and the only thing to pull me out of it was exceedingly angry music and scrolling through Pinterest for character inspiration.

All it took was one extra interraction, and now we're off to the races yet again. #TQPOASG #darkfantasy

The Fray: A massive market that dominates the 10th Level of Hel, stretching for miles of ever-shifting stalls, informal courtyards, and teeming masses of people. Massive stone pillars support the weight of the levels above. A place where anything can be found, and anything can be lost. #TQPOASG

It meant the world to hear this, especially on the first time sharing a piece of writing from the world of The Quiet Pain of a Shattered God

#FantasyIndiesApril Day 24: MC Nicknames

Lirian is called "Liri" by Hwan, and "Princess" by Grimoire.
Hwan has no nicknames as of yet.
Grimoire is called "Grim" by Lirian (in closer settings), and has yet to earn the restpect from Hwan to have a nickname from her.

“Maybe,” he allowed with a small shrug. “But roots can rot. And even the deepest ones can be pulled if you know where to dig.”

- Grimoire, explaining his task in Hel, begun with holy orders, continued with personal vendetta (1/3 MC in TQPOASG)
DAY 3: #𝗢𝗻𝗲𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗠𝗖
Good morning, Campers! Today, we focus on your MC. Share a line from your manuscript that tells us all we need to know about your MC's personality.

#FantasyIndiesApril Day 23
Since the story takes place in August - and in the basement of the pyramid as well - there are no major flora or fauna to discuss.

However, the Temples of the 2nd House are known to house ever-growing vines, prompted to growth by the worship of those devoted who reside.

#FantasyIndiesApril Day 22

Lirian would describe herself as the "Daughter of Hel", and she carries herself like it.
Hwan would simply stare at you, arms crossed and eyes guarded.
Grimoire would laugh and move on - though he didn't answer.

I'm still wandering through the woods, though the outline for the camp is set up. I've got the bones of a tent, a fire, a place to cook, and characters are slowly showing up and settling in.

Soon we'll share stories, and that will be the bones of my book.
DAY 2 #𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗠𝗮𝗽
Hope your first night by the fire sparked your inspiration! 🔥
Today, your manuscript is your map. What stage of your project are you at? Are you lost in the woods? Climbing a mountain? Sailing the seven seas? Use a visual metaphor or a gif, or even draw us a map. #CampRevPit

Working on a blog post for #ShapingLineage (link in bio), that attempts to decode the impact that #Sinners has had on me since leaving the theater.

"Watching Sinners is like watching a church burn while the choir keeps singing. You can’t pretend you’re not in the room."

#FantasyIndiesApril Day 21

Missed a few days, but we’re back.
Lirian lives in Hel, the bottom 20 levels.
Down here, weather seeps in from above.

The "rains", tainted with concrete and rot, are her favorite.
A silence. A kind of stillness the city rarely allows.

In The Quiet Pain of a Shackled God, this is how Anselm answers when asked about his scar—spoken in Khurathi, the language of The Flamebourne:

Varesh'shal Nyzeth kharrin’a.
Marrath vel khurak til darrin’ur.
Aerā, drath’an sa'khurth.

I'm attempting to begin the process of creating a language for my world (for the first time). What are some tips/thoughts/referances to use for this? The concept is a bit complicated, so I can share more a bit later.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I just finished a short story set in the world of The Quiet Pain of a Shackled God. If you're into dark fantasy, crime intrigue, and quiet horror—I'd love your thoughts.

Come see what Hel has to offer.

Rewriting Act I of The Quiet Pain of a Shackled God has been wild—in the best way. Tightening plot threads, planting early clues, and sharpening character voices. It's like finding the real story beneath the first draft’s skin. Loving this stage. #amwriting #fantasybooks
