Golden hour, golden beast

I'm not sure if I count as a furry, but I've been known to draw myself as a grouchy Corsac fox every now and then.

Most owners teach their dogs to play dead, but that doesn’t capture Winston’s dramatic flair. Instead, I’ve taught her to perish.

Crashed in bed as soon as I got home from work today, and Nurse Winston was right on top of things with her snuggles. Now that I’m awake, she’s requesting payment for services rendered in the form of chin rubs.

Winston agrees that we need to stand up for trans rights, but she draws the line at calling any humans ‘hot’.

We’re not supposed to take pictures of other protestors, but I think I can make an exception for my protest pupper.

Dispatches from a snowy evening

Hey, Seattle Children's Hospital is caving to federal pressure to cancel gender-affirming surgery for one of their patients. DO NOT OBEY IN ADVANCE, you chickenshits.

My good girl and I are planning to attend a protest later this week. If you want to help, put the hospital on blast.

Quiet moment on the light rail today. A small child standing by the door kept sneaking peeks at Winston, making sure not to get too close, then darting back to their parent for whispered check-ins. Service dogs are unusual, and I’m happy to see a kid getting comfortable with them early.

From “Some Strange Music Draws Me In,” by Griffin Hansbury. I’m blisteringly angry, all the time, but the only acceptable outlet for it is myself. From one quieted identity to the other, with no sense of irony from the outside world.

DS9 had budget constraints on its costuming, but I can felt my Cardassian roleplaying PC as lizardlike as I want to. He’s getting a little felted Starfleet uniform later, too, because he’s a science track cadet. 🦎🌿

Miniature felted Winston! One day I want to make one with her fur instead of wool.

@fartsandwich.bsky.social , my friend and I tried out your carbonated fish recipe this evening. We didn’t get the bubbles we were hoping for, but a blind taste test with an un-carbonated control group did indicate a slight difference in taste and texture. Science!

Keeping me company while I’m in an online class. She doesn’t need to wear the bandana since we’re at home, but it helps differentiate work time from play time for her.
