Adrian Tchaikovsky(@aptshadow.bsky.social)'s House of Open Wounds starts its serialisation on Science Fiction World (Translations) this month, two years after the Chinese translation of City of Last Chances. I guess they need to speed up; they are translating the series slower than AT writing it...

Hearing reports that some of you have not been informed that we are casting the net far and wide to determine the science fiction and fantasy favorites of the year. Here's me amending that:

Join us. In honor of hitting triple digits in responses I was awarded one (1) DVD of The Hobbit (1977). It was so cool and metallic. I await my next reward, contingent on the number of responses

My modest "Tchai Trove".
Considering the distance across half the globe, I'm contented with the adequacy😉 (of the quantity). Read all of them, and some more e-books. Enjoyed all of them.
Looking forward to the continuations in two major series as well as more standalones from AT in the coming year!

Katabasis UK edition (R) and its Chinese translation (L). Approaching the end of the former, will probably re-read with the latter.

A solid start to a promising trilogy.
Not as thrilling as Leviathan Wakes, though, IMHO.

Reimagining What It Means to be Human: Adrian Tchaikovsky, Alien Ecologist - Reactor
From his brilliant worldbuilding to the ecological perspective that drives his work, Tchaikovsky's fiction cultivates radical empathy, asking fascinating questions along the way.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the AI-laxy"! "Service Model" is my most enjoyable read in this year by far. It's a pity that this gorgeous edition arrived only after I finished reading a plain edition (will probably give the latter to a friend and pass the thrill on).

Looking forward to it! My first reading slot in the next year (2025) has been reserved for this.
The cover is out for the third Tyrant Philosophers book! Another masterpiece from Joe Wilson. Days of Shattered Faith can be read independently or as part of the series. Diplomacy, politics and war. Sometimes being a good person isn't enough, if you're working for the bad guys...

@aptshadow.bsky.social Adrian Tchaikovsky's City of Last Chances finishes its serialisation on Science Fiction World (Translations) this month. This is his first novel published in Chinese. Cage of Souls will start serialisation in May. Still in three parts (May, Jul, Sep), I guess.
