“Command and Control” is another journalist who talked to a lot of nuke people. I have no issue with the history but it ought to be stressed that the US nuclear enterprise actually improved its surety practices since the end of the Cold War and he omits that

It’s a good book to understand one side of the Cold War deterrence debate but not tremendously relevant today

My observance is that they don't put dumb generals/admirals in the J5 JCS Director position. This is really crazy town. I hope the congressional hearings on Hegseth's behavior in 2027 get him fired, since Trump won't let him go.
