You're referring to Travis Head's 100 for Australia against the English cricket team in the 1st Ashes Test match yesterday in Perth, I assume. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11...
Head's explosion breaks England and decides a deeply unserious Perth Test
The innings of a lifetime from Travis Head may be the resounding memory from an often farcical first Test in Perth, won by Australia and lost by England in spectacular fashion.

Congrats!

Just another example of continued tinkering with something (in this case laws of the game) to 'improve' them but actually producing the exact opposite effect. It seems to be a universal process at present and its called enshitification.

I remember that the job of 'Hanging Judge' went out of fashion a few years ago ... hopefully this will also.

Played like a T20 innings. Unbelieveable cricket!

From what I remember, apart from the invasion of Grenada (which had virtually no army to speak of), almost every US intervention or overseas adventure has resulted in chaos of some sort for the country being imposed upon. #USpolitics #foreignpolicy #war

Not entirely true. In 1979 I went for an interview for a funded PhD place (which I got - there were another 8-10 or so where I didn't get a funded place) and they told me 'You do realise, don't you, that you'll never get a job out of this PhD?' Hard but I did get a great career out of it!

What is it that makes cruelty appealing to some people?

Absolutely true. At 14/15 I played violin very badly but was in the School 2nd Orchestra. In rehearsal for a public concert, I was the one who played a lone note when everyone should be silent. Mortified! Teacher said no worries & that my gaff guaranteed I'd get it right tomorrow. He was dead right!

After 20 years, many of the asylum seekers Mahmood is talking about will have kids who have grown up in the UK and many of whom will now be adults and know no other place. Is the plan to send those children/kids/adults 'back to where their parents came from as well'? Building cruelty for the future.
