A new format for Product Assembly! Really enjoyed running my first #LeanCoffee meet up. Everyone was so up for it! We had some great discussion about culture in product teams, how to deal with HIPPOs & how to demonstrate value when your product’s primary goal isn’t 💰 . Can’t wait for the next one!

Really enjoyed @lolaodelola.bsky.social ‘s talk at @heypresents.com on creative use of alt tags & writing more beautiful descriptions for screen readers. I’ve since spent more time & effort on alt tags & try to make them more poetic. Check out Lola’s work it’s fascinating ✨
An audience member’s perspective of Lola Odelola’s talk on using more poetic language in Alt text for screen readers. The view shows a plush cinema surrounded by darkness except for the large cinema screen projecting Lola’s slides. The seating is velvet and adds to the richness of the darkness in the room. Her slide shows this text: Ekphrastic Poetry as Alt-Text Ekphrasis or ecphrasis (from the Greek) is a rhetorical device indicating the written description of a work of art. It is a vivid, often dramatic, verbal description of a visual work of art, either real or imagined. The room is silent and still with interest in what she has to say.

My first Bluesky post…I’m running a Product Assembly event tomorrow. The theme is Design Sprints and there will be some interactive stuff involved to teach one of the sprint techniques. It’s in Leeds UK (the new San Francisco) and will be really fun! Excited to meet more tech folks on here ✨
