New games are great, but so many game mechanics and narratives seem to have faded over the past few years. For instance, I miss the emergent gameplay dynamics of the early Battlefield games, or the creative development methods behind classics like Final Fantasy 6.

No, but seriously, I did play a bit of Sands of Time. Which got me back into Tell Tale's Batman. Which then got me back into Arkham Knight.

Now I think it's time to play some Skyrim.

I wrote a good chunk of my first book during NaNoWrimo sessions, so it's a little sad. They seemed to turn a corner in the last few years, though, and not for the best.
