Finished Daindreth's Outlaw, Daindreth's Assassin, and then the other two in a matter of a couple weeks 😂 Just one more in the series left. It was a fun read but also a great lesson in worldbuilding and weaving historical facts without it burdening the plot. #daindrethsassassin #bookgoblin

Made a point to drive the 10 minutes it took to get to the ocean so I could get in a few more minutes of sunlight. 4:52p sunset. Just 30 more seconds of sunlight today than yesterday--how much difference it makes in our day as in our writing.

I do my best reading when I get my hair done. Usually because without being tied to a chair, the kids or dog or hubby or remembering bills gets in the way and then I get too tired and need something mind numbing. But I can tell I am going to finish this in a day. #James #huckfinn

So, this should be The Fire Next Time but since I enjoyed this movie so much and I can't just choose ONE of Baldwin's writings, reading the screenplay was absolutely a delight and Peck did Baldwin justice in this filmic realisation of Baldwin's writings.

#Animorphs #19 blew my mind when I read it. Not only was I intrigued by Black girls in scifi, but the notion of trying to empathize with and understand your enemy? Both brutal and compelling.

Reading Say Hello to my Little Friend by Jennine Capó Crucet and this scene where Izzy meets the whale is both hilarious and touching, I blacked out the part that had me rolling so as not to ruin the surprise, but go read this book!!! #whales #sayhellotomylittlefriend #amreadingfiction

Yesterday I went to Novel writing bootcamp at #rutgers with #roxanegay and others and it was incredible. Came home, wrote 3 paragraphs, finally excited to write more 🥳 #amwriting

@lingthusiasm.bsky.social I feel like you'd be proud of my 9yo tonight, who patted the dog and said, "You've got a smol head! S-m-o-l. It's not actually small, it's just cute!" I have ling chats with him all the time, but I've never actually heard him refer to something as 'smol' before.
