my "anonymous" new article on having a son in prison on mother's day. After the MAGA backlash to my huffpost one and the recent stalker, I have to be more careful. prisonwriters.com/living-with-...

The ugliness of the comments! As tho these right wing people ever really care about “victims”.
My Son Is In Prison. This 4-Word Reaction From People Is Gut-Wrenchingly Insensitive.
"The curiosity is understandable — completely so. But leading with those four little words shows little understanding of the injustices built into the system."

Looking still for mothers of incarcerated sons to interview for an article focusing on disclosure and finances. Women of Color are encouraged to lend their voices.

Do you have any resources for mothers of incarcerated sons to recommend for our website, He's Still My Son, www.stillmyson.org?

I've been asked to write an article for a prominent criminal justice org about mothers of incarcerated sons, focusing on how and IF we tell people our child is in prison.

Can I interview YOU?

DM me if you're willing (or just want to learn more).

The website is LIVE. Please visit He's Still My Son, www.stillmyson.org. Please join the mailing list and tell us YOUR story. I will post them. For now, my own article that too many publications were afraid to touch, is under FEATURED article. Also, any resources we should add?

I'm working on a documentary about mothers of incarcerated sons. I'm looking for a mother in the greater NYC area to interview on film. Might it be you? Know someone who wants to tell their story?

Early stage of pre-production on a documentary about mothers of incarcerated sons. Do you know a mother we should interview? We'd like to do a first shoot with a local (to NYC) mother. We can then use the "teaser" to fundraise.

My article on mothers of incarcerated sons was pulled at the last minute because the major publication decided they didn't like my son's crime. Is there a good crime?

Mother blame and its impact on our health and relationships was the whole point of the article.

What will Gaetz as AG mean for the prison system? Hard to imagine, but his plans are for more severe punishments.

I have two articles coming out on the outsized roles of mothers in caring (financially, legally, emotionally) for their incarcerated sons. There may be close to a million of us in this country and yet our stressors and value have been invisible.
Stay tuned.

I volunteered last night for The Marshall Project, helping them log letters from inmates. There is such a backlog but we are getting through them all.
