If you've fallen out of practice of wearing a mask, this would be a good week to start again! COVID rates are rising because of a new variant, and because many people will have gotten sick over Thanksgiving. Your best protection is wearing a high quality mask.

@aew.bsky.social I know your industry and much of our society is built on the idea that health and body size are a matter of discipline and will power, but it's so much more complicated than that. Please be on the right side of these movements. 8/8

@aew.bsky.social and remember disabilities are just physical--consider mental and emotional disabilities, people who are blind or deaf/Dead, and many other communities that include people who drool for many reasons, but are just as worthy of respect as those who don’t. /7

@aew.bsky.social For body size equality, consider Ragen Chastain's work, Lindley Ashline's, Lindy West's, and Virgie Tovar's, among many others. For disability equality, check out Alice Wong's work, Judith Heumann's, Rick Hansen's, Sami Schalk's, and many more. /6

@aew.bsky.social please consider some sensitivity or DEI training around disability and body size. It would be beneficial for your employees and audience members, and it would be a radical step forward regarding human rights and respect. /5

@aew.bsky.social I appreciate the inclusivity of different genders, body sizes, sexualities, skin colors, ages; it's one of the reasons I continue to support AEW and have become a wrestling fan, which is a surprise to me. /4

@aew.bsky.social why is it still okay to use imagery and words about disability and being fat as insults? Are those people just less worthy of respect? I appreciate what AEW has done to support getting help for mental health concerns and fighting that stigma. /3

@aew.bsky.social as someone who uses a wheelchair and has done extensive research on the word gimp, this kind of language needs to stop. You would never allow this kind of language about other under represented groups, like LGBTQA, Veterans, or those with mental illness.

@aew.bsky.social Christian Cage's use of the word "gimp", statement that Adam Copeland wouldn't be dignified in a wheelchair, that he would be drooling, and more is absolutely atrocious and offensive to people who use wheelchairs. know Christian is supposed to be a heel, but c'mon! /1
