Rehabilitated Violist, haunted by lobster ghosts. Former island-boy. I make art and peck at french fries on the sidewalk. Expect lots of FF14 and indie games.

In 2021, the makers of the indie classic CrossCode got a grant from the German government to fund half of their next game. They thought it'd take ~$1.5 million and 3.5 years.

Things didn't go quite as planned. Here's the story behind the follow-up to a masterpiece: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

oh btw if you guys liked Silent Hill f may I suggest Detention. It's by the same studio that made Devotion. It takes place during White Terror in Taiwan and has some really great horror elements from Taiwanese mythology.

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

Yo my fellow authors.... we can do the funniest thing right now.
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

I think that as an indie game dev without a large publisher, your target audience is not gamers in general, it is sickos.

It's hardcore sickos that will be diving the depths of your genre and finding your game, and it is sickos who will be spreading it.

Please the passionate, not the masses.
