Watched and loved Blue Thunder tonight. Such a blast to watch, with great action, but smart and grounded too.
Experimental super helicopter, gritty 80s LA, police corruption and conspiracy.
Roy Scheider, Malcolm McDowell, Warren Oates, Candy Clark, Daniel Stern.

Very excited to get one of the first copies of Carol Tyler’s (@carolcomix.bsky.social) new book on grief.

I often find good books and weird books at thrift stores, so I’m starting a thread to share some favorites.

Yesterday I found this beat up copy of a wild Charles Willeford, an 80s reprint

Been waiting to see this for a long time!
A few years ago I drew the cover for this book by Douglas W. Milbern, it’s a deep dive into the lyrics of 90s Cincinnati band The Ass Ponys

Every once in a while an Italian academic reaches out for permission to use one of my Calvino illustrations in a paper. I always agree, I’m just glad people are still finding them.
Glad that my Perinthia, from Invisible Cities, will appear in a manuscript on Calvino and astronomy

Flattered that Italian blogger Angela Finelli wrote up the old art account where Leighton Connor, Matt Kish and I used to illustrate Italo Calvino stories:
