I'm hardly a party pooper, but a critical eye can't be dismissed as toxic negativity, much like how the reverse shouldn't be dismissed as toxic positivity. That said, modern geek culture operates on extremes. Either something is a 0 or a 10. There is no in between where we can use our heads.

There's nothing wrong with fan service and Easter eggs, but I think the series is in danger of this given its premise. I like the new stuff too, but the show's creatives are playing a Very difficult game.

Or those who work there* I don't know if the individual in question is a citizen, but that's beside the point. We're seeing this behaviour spring up all over the world and it is, to put it bluntly, an attack on the freedom of speech we're supposedly trying to protect.
