If Sadiq Khan were white, there'd be more outrage over a world leader lambasting him at the UN. But because he's brown and Muslim, I guess it's fair game.

What do people have against him and London that isn't founded in racism or fear of diversity?

It's just racism. Pure and simple.

All caught up on Demon Slayer.

This show started off so good, but the back half has been really bad.

It still looks spectacular and everyone has amazing hair and eyes (lol), but it's so hard to care about anything at this point.

At least with the films, it will be over soon.

'If this flag offends you, I 'Ll help you pack your bags'.

Sir, you look so brave wearing that shirt. In no way are you insecure or cowardly for threatening to deport someone if they disagree with you!

What an awful way to show your National 'Pride'. Pathetic.

Toei has done the unthinkable and finally livestreamed a brand new season of Kamen Rider around the world.

Annnnd they've ballsed it up by deciding to loop the episode instead of letting you freely watch it whenever you want.

One step forward, two steps back huh Toei?

I'm not defending the current Labour Government at all, but where the F was all of this crucifying when the Tories were in Power? Like, Lockdown breaches aside, I don't recall anywhere near the same level of outrage for the opposition.

There's nothing remotely balanced about any of this.

Why do I need a Credit Card to buy and 18+ game on Steam, even though I am well over the age of 18?

Well done OSA. 👏

Having pride in one's country involves more than just flying a flag. That alone won't improve our infrastructure, give shelter to the dispossessed, nor will it protect the women and children some claim to care so much about.

True pride requires effort and the will to change.

Really disappointed with Bluesky about recent events. I can theoretically see how someone *might* take issue with 'wishing ill' on another person, but silencing legitimate criticism about truly awful people isn't the way.

People like JKR deserve to be criticised for their hateful views.

Playing around with the Retroid Pocket Classic. The Amoled display is gorgeous, and I really like Retroid's custom set up (even if manually getting all the apps and emulators isn't THAT hard).

Battery life isn't as big at the Ayaneo DMG, but since this is significantly cheaper, it's not a problem.

On the one hand, Late Night is a dying breed, so CBS cancelling The Late Show might not be that surprising in the streaming era.

On the other hand, there's an uncomfortable feeling that this is a political hit.

I wish Colbert all the best for the future. Stay safe and continue to speak out.

What is happening in Texas right now is tragic and the response could be grand.

Instead they're being asked to pray.

Faith without action is no faith at all. It's hollow, meaningless and makes a mockery of everyone.

Skybound/Image comics' Transformers series is a consistently thrilling, epic war story where all bets are off and anything can happen to your favourite robots. Much like Peach Momoko's Ultimate X-Men, it's a remake of a storied property so original, I have no idea where it's going next. Great stuff!

Great book and what an amazing series this has been.

Thank you to @charlessoule.bsky.social and the rest of the amazing team for a much needed shot in the arm for Star Wars novels. Loved whatever I read and hope we see more like this!

The Force will be with you Project Luminous. Always.

The situation with Nintendo using 'game key cards' points to two things. The first is corporate greed and lack of ownership for the consumer.

The second is how unsustainable game development has become if the games have to be downloaded. Only really works for AAA games, less so small indie titles.

Customer: CaSh iS KiNg!!!!!!

No, cash is a means to an end. It's not a king or an object of worship.

I understand why people use that phrase and am not oblivious to the benefits of tangible goods, but there's something perverse about it.

And that's coming from me.

What happened in Liverpool is a tragedy, and it's disgusting to see both some bad actors trying to stir up trouble, as well as the suspect's identity shining a light on some uncomfortable facts.

Takes away from what has happened, but we can't ignore this either.

Once in a while, it would be lovely to meet an elder person who doesn't ridicule the modern world and actually has the desire to learn new things, rather than taking comfort in the myth that their generation was the best.

I see a lot of people like that where I live. How does one navigate this?

I have conflicting opinions on the new Gundam series.

On the one hand I like the alt-history premise.

On the other, I'm less enthused by the pacing and references. Some of that makes sense, but I hope this gets a second season or a movie. It needs more breathing room.

Any country claiming to be a democracy can not maintain that claim when it uses its power to silence and arrest its citizens for simply doing their job.

Academia has always been a target of anti democratic powers and those that would silence knowledge.

Personally I think Reform winning anything would be a disaster and that they represent the opposite of what the UK needs to be truly great.

But that's just me. Apparently populist rhetoric, fake patriotism, and masking everything behind 'common sense' while hiding your true beliefs is a good thing?

At the end of my Digimon Adventure 02 rewatch. In many ways it holds up better than I expected. In others? Decidedly less.

And oh boy......does it nosedive in the last quarter.
April 14, 2025 at 6:31 PM
I'm watching the Black Wargreymon arc and I'm repeating myself here, but 02 isn't a letdown because it doesn't have good ideas (it is stuffed with great things). BWG fits right in with the more subtler, darkness and anxieties and existential themes of 02. It's what I expect Digimon to do.

Moments like these make it really hard to write off a show like this when the character writing and substance are this good. I vividly remember watching this as a child. Ken's trauma and redemption from being the bad guy are still really heartfelt and holds up to my adult eyes.
