I spent a lot of time in this debate and it's a challenge. Yes alcohol is "fun" and widely used but there is little by the way of epidemiological evidence of benefit. The best framing in my view is "to minimise your risk of cancer, avoid alcohol. If you choose to drink, drink as little as possible"
