This (and many other reasons) is why I have proudly used @signal.org (TextSecure) for over a decade and have gotten all of my friends and family on it. 99% of my daily conversations happen over Signal. No other option really compares in the E2EE messenger market.
Why Signal’s post-quantum makeover is an amazing engineering achievement
New design sets a high standard for post-quantum readiness.

So we remain vigilant & deeply grateful to our allies.

For Signal, Chat Control is an existential threat. If we were *forced* to choose between building surveillance into our services or keeping our integrity, we would choose integrity & leave the market. We hope it never comes to this. 7/

Can’t pay, won’t pay: impoverished streaming services are driving viewers back to piracy
As subscription costs rise and choice diminishes on legal sites, film and TV fans are turning to VPNs and illicit streamers, with Sweden – home of both Spotify and The Pirate Bay – leading the way

European authoritarians and their enablers in the media are misrepresenting GrapheneOS and even Pixel phones as if they're something for criminals. GrapheneOS is opposed to the mass surveillance police state these people want to impose on everyone.

This is inaccurate. There is no known vulnerability with Signal's core tech. The memo was discussing phishing attempts, which Signal has worked to mitigate. And it was hastily reported.

It's important not to spread misinfo that can confuse people into moving away from meaningfully private comms.
In case you missed it: the Pentagon--that's Hegseth--got warned about using Signal a week ago.

💯
The annoying nerds who said you should install Linux, use decentralised social media, use Signal secure messenger were right.

Control of our own computing is a prerequisite for freedom.

The internet *is* real life.

This is disingenuous marketing.

Signal chats can't be 'monitored' by anyone not in those chats. Dressing up "joining groups via publicly posted links, then exfiltrating group data" as an offensive 'cybercapability' borders on misinfo, and confuses/scares ppl who rely on Signal for robust privacy.
@intel471.bsky.social is now collecting intelligence from Signal group chats that have a tangent to malicious activity. Compared to Telegram, Signal today is not a significant hub for cybercrime. But there's rising interest in platforms that offer better OPSEC. #infosec
