Somewhere in the distance, when admin said this, a former member of the #yqrcc screamed "noooooooooo"
Tsiklis asks if new rink solves the problem?
Admin: If you look outside Regina, we have one more rink than Sktoon & they have larger population. Some of their rinks are privately owned. I'm not sure another rink will solve the problem. #yqrcc

You mean we get free plastic w/o any need for surgery! How is this not a good deal!?!
My department - Geography & Environmental Studies at the University of Regina is hosting a free public screening of Plastic People: The Hidden Crisis of Microplastics next Monday Nov 25! All are welcome. Short discussion to follow the documentary. #yqr

The new council will be sworn in Monday November 18 at 7pm in Henry Baker Hall. I will live tweet from @pdcityhall.bsky.social. Thinking about maybe going in for it… but I'm soooooo lazy and my couch is sooooo comfortable. #yqrcc

Check out this 🧵! It's an important message about how we should treat those who are on the other side of the fence so-to-speak.
A few years ago I wrote a paper on how people become radicalized. The most common theme is they found connection within hateful communities often online while lacking personal positive connections to the community. For most, the catalyst for leaving hateful communities was developing a personal

What's everyone's bets on the #catalyst projects in #yqr with this mostly new council. I think the trail system is still going through since it has federal funding. Pool will remain unchanged. Library will move to Cornwall, but the Multi-use centre and ballpark will be deemed frivolous spending.

How dare anyone try to interview authorities on government property. What do they think we are, a free country?!?!
Cops are also on site now. I was talking to a Victoria Police officer about why they’re here when Island Health rep Andrew Leyne walks over, stops the interview, asks me to “not record on Island Health property”

Who is getting ready to watch Die Hard this Christmas season. Definitely one of the best Christmas movies out there

You know, this holiday train probably shows one of the few downsides to growing up on Vancouver Island. We settled for a decked out Cement truck... until the police deemed that illegal.
CPKC Holiday train @ Mosaic Stadium Parking lot on South Railway Ave 7:30 pm Dec 6. Performing will be Tyler Shaw & Shawnee Kish. Before Regina: Qu’Appelle, Indian Head, Broadview & Moosomin. After Regina, stops in Moose Jaw at 4:30 pm on Dec. 7 at 3 Manitoba Street. www.cpkcr.com/en/community...

Tomorrow, the new #yqrcc will be getting sworn in. Here's hoping for less drama over the next four years than the previous four.

Stood in line 90 minutes to cast my vote here in #yqr . I hope I hear that there was high turnout this year!

All these people complaining about getting texts from common sense Regina, etc... and I'm over here with my BC # hearing crickets...

Vote splitting? This isn't party politics (Thank god) however wouldn't it be at least kind of funny if the votes for Bob Pearce were the difference between the top 2 candidates?
Bresciani is making a plea not to vote split or else she might get Flegelled this election. #yqrcc

Note to self: try for that 100% rate when I post an image to Bluesky 😅. I'm probably at 20% at that other place 😮‍💨

Also, more people need to get more involved at the municipal level to keep our local politicians honest, no matter who gets in. Make sure you keep up with what's happening, so that you can at least let your councillor know how you feel, if not making time for delegations. Our city depends on us!
Hey #yqr PLEASE get out to vote in Wednesday’s election!! We need to keep the far-right folks out of city council and school board!

I’m hoping Chad is our new mayor

And Jessie Morris for Ward 1

In two days, Regina, SK has a very important day. I hope the amount of people who vote don't follow the countrywide ⬇️ trend I've seen since I first voted many moons ago. I hope the people I vote for win, of course... However what I really hope for is a healthier council environment. #yqr #yqrcc
