Only Donald Trump could think it makes sense to punish Mexico and Canada more than China.

Although keep in mind, the real punishment is for Americans. This is a direct Trump tax on us, consumers, that we will pay.
Leavitt: "The president will be implementing tomorrow 25 percent tariffs on Mexico, 25 percent on Canada, and a 10 percent tariff on China."

Childcare subsidy: cut.
Funding for disability support groups: cut.
Eye exam coverage: cut.

That’s just what the UCP have cut this month.

Meanwhile, the Alberta NDP? We cut child poverty in half.

Governing is about choices.

The UCP aren’t choosing you.

MAGA is out there pushing a fake story that the helicopter pilot in the horrible DCA crash is a trans woman. Because blaming minority groups when bad things happen is Chapter 1 of the authoritarian playbook.

We have a reality tv game show host for a “president” and reality tv star for a “transportation secretary” and a morning tv “news” anchor for a “defense secretary”.

So things are going about as well as expected.

Danielle Smith's UCP gov't, guided by Take Back Alberta far-right Christian fundamentalists, has spent the last two weeks betraying Canada to Donald Trump (and being called out on it by nearly every other Premier) and publishing a fairy tale report on covid-19.

Can't wait for the coming election.

If Danielle Smith is so hell-bent on listening to contrarian opinions for covid management, she should be 100% willing to listen to climate activist opinions on oil sands and coal mining, right?

Right?

Just re-read @lindamcquaig.bsky.social and Neil Brooks, “The Trouble with Billionaires”. It’s a great and fairly quick read and very relevant to what we see happening in North America.
