I don't think that's what he's TRYING to say. I think he means Taliban are contacting Afghans living in the US demanding they kill Americans or else the Taliban is going to kill family members that they left behind.

Their greed used to be kept in check via regulation and taxes but that all changed with Reaganomics, which gave them the windfall to buy the political system and bribe them for more and more breaks until we got to where we are. If this country can't get back to before, we're screwed.

If not for our country being run by assholes, that could be us... in spades - we're bigger and wealthier than Finland.

I don't have a problem with AI, or robotics, automation and other labor saving advances. I have a problem with all of society's advancement going to the enrichment of the wealth class rather than society at large.

It really irks me no end when pollsters present "either/or fallacies" like "do you want socialism or capitalism?" (like there's no middle ground) or "is it OK to throw over democracy to fix the economy?" ( like that's in any way necessary)
