Happy 25th birthday, mifepristone!

25 years ago, the FDA approved mifepristone as a safe & effective abortion medication. Typically using a combo of mifepristone & misoprostol, medication abortions are now the most common way to end pregnancy. These meds are also used after miscarriages. (1/3)

ON THIS DAY: 60 years ago today, on July 30, 1965, President Johnson signed Medicaid and Medicare into law. These state and federal government-funded programs made it possible for people with low incomes and people ages 65 and older to get health insurance they would not otherwise have access to.
