I understand that not everyone “wants to see” explicit adult content, but “nsfw” is too broad a term and it seems to be growing ever wider, especially as a means to censor queer art and nonwhite bodies. a figure drawing class would be labeled as explicit by this site and a portion of its community.

the growing opposition to nsfw in art and writing communities is not only an uncomfortable bellweather for the social climate, but also personally isolating. excising nudity, humanity, desire from art is antithetical to art making. it prioritizes marketability over the marginalized.
