Mostly hikes with Tado 🥔 my dog.

Loves hiking, quaint cafes, hedgehogs, birds, science and nature.
Jets drift far beneath,
sunlit ridges lift our steps,
earth becomes the sky.

Jets flying below us on the Fairfield Horseshoe, high above Grasmere.

Fairfield Horseshoe hike in the Lake District. A tough 10 mile hike covering almost 3000 feet in ascents. Not recommended for people with an aversion to heights.

High above the lakes,
Sunlit ridges bend in arc,
Heaven feels so near.

Scarth Moor path wet brown,
a lone lamb watches me pass—
spring waits on hold in the breeze.

Scarth Moor in the Yorkshire Moors offering views across the Tees Valley below. A wet start which brightened later.

Hiking from Leyburn to Middleham in the Dales. 14.5km circular.

Bluebells in full glow,
Sunlight crowns the ancient stones-
A kingdom in bloom.

A hike around the grounds of the Swinton Estate in the Yorkshire Dales. Calling by the Druid's temple.

Stone roots kiss the sky,
whispers twine through moss and leaf—
time sleeps at the Druid's temple.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is home to over 6,000 traditional farm buildings. Of these, around 4,500 are field barns.

Tracing the Paradise trail. From Boltby to High Paradise Farm.

Sun and rain collide,
Paradise glistens ahead,
Moorland calls me home.

For some #MondayMotivation enjoy this view of a hoar frost in Upper Wensleydale from a couple of years ago.

Whispers of trees guiding the way, the breath of dragons stir, trails of old in Silton forest.

The hike up from Thimbleby to the summit of Black Hambleton shows that beauty can be found even in the bleakest of places.

From King Alfred's and chicken of the woods to waxcaps. Beneath oak and pine,
hidden gems in mossy shade, earth's treasures whilst on our adventures.

Crackpots Mosaic Trail in Nidderdale.
These mosaics stem some 12km across Moor, forest and farmland, a welcomed addition as the fragments of a tale told in stone unfolded.

Following the River Ure in the autumnal midmorning sun, tracing the ancient path it set our before us. The hill of Hackfall Wood whispering as the trees go to rest for the winter.

Our first shared hike in BlueSky, the Yorkshire Moors via Kepwick. The mood sullen, the leaves blanketing the ground, adding to the drag underfoot. Tado; our half pom half pug, skipped over them in his element. He's made for Winter ❄️ and it's coming...
