Yeah agree she doesn't really qualify (any excuse to rave about that release though). Even Alex G is kinda ascendant albeit after a very long climb. The prior top tier indie darlings have really flopped across the board.

Alex G feels like an exception maybe? and the new Jay Som is great imo if that qualifies. But by and large completely agree

We had that for 6 glorious months post-wedding. Then a pandemic happened, and then a baby happened, and only just now are we just getting to the point of starting up again! Saw Nickel Boys last week and it was ace. Enjoy.
