"Saccharine" got recommended to me earlier this year, and while nothing else on this album hits quite as hard as that track, this is a tasteful channeling of 2000's alternative and emo rock. I'm eager to see where VIOLENT VIRA go next, cuz this kinda rocks. youtu.be/XqdszMg4rEI?... #NowPlaying

My favorite album of 2020, Terminus by Jesu, turns 5 years old today. It's hard to believe that we've gotten to the point where the art we've experienced during the lockdown is getting into retrospective territory. What a beautifully crushing post-rock record. jesu.bandcamp.com/album/terminus

Haven't booted this one up in more than seven years.

I don't have many followers, but this could be fun.

Torn on this record. Some collabs rock (Femtanyl, Frost Children), others don't (Quadeca). I guess the biggest issue is that, when aligned with maximalist hyperpop and electronica, Danny sounds like a feature on his own album. He isn't the focus here (though maybe that's the real point). #NowPlaying

Last repost: it's very interesting that Sony is airing a State of Play specifically for the East. I know hoping for Kingdom Hearts IV or Project Robot news is reaching, but damn, someone rescue my girls from PS4 purgatory and bring them to PC.

2026 Grammy nominations are out, along with the nominees for Best Video Game Score. I admittedly haven't played any of these games, so I can't push for anything specific here, but Wintory getting another nomination is good to see. Other than that, business as usual (with the emphasis on "business").

Godspeed You! Black Emperor removed their discography from streaming services earlier this year and I never owned a physical copy of Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven. I'm a fake fan no more!

Happy 10 years to Transatlantic Noise Terror Peak. Looking forward to hearing the re-recorded version of the album tomorrow. #NowPlaying

A massive upheaval is going on in my life at the moment. I'm not ready to explain exactly what's happening, but in the meantime, please be patient with me. Thank you to everyone who has stuck around after all this time. ❤️

Happy 30 years to an enormously underrated debut album, Hello by Poe. Everyone should know her music, especially anyone who played Alan Wake II. #NowPlaying

30 years since Adrenaline, the first album by Deftones was released. It's so raw and aggressive, but it's a pretty underrated first step in their discography. It's awesome to hear the band still playing old tracks like "7 Words" and "Engine No. 9" live. Jamming this hard today. #NowPlaying

Happy 10 years to Deafheaven's album New Bermuda. I know Sunbather is their magnum opus to many, but New Bermuda is my favorite from Deafheaven. It's the enduring bridge between their heavier black-metal side and the genre-agnosticism of Ordinary Corrupt Human Love. I love this record. #NowPlaying

It's blowing my mind just how good this OST is. When I'm not scrambling to avoid enemies and bottomless pits, I get to appreciate this theme's overwhelmingly full mix and roaring electronic noise. It goes so hard. Perhaps another game music analysis video is in order (someday). #NowPlaying

Listening to video game music outside of playing the game itself can be pretty damn enlightening. For example, you can hear so many cool instrumental subtleties here when there are no explosions or talking characters. #NowPlaying

I shelved the Donkey Kong '94 video (and as a result, Donkey Kong Month as a whole) for a lot of reasons: a rough scriptwriting process, a tight deadline, but there's one big reason that I'm admittedly nervous about revealing: Donkey Kong '94 just isn't that fun of a game. Sorry, all.

Deftones were great live as always, but big props to Idles, who opened for Deftones last night. Incredible performance and the passionate pro-immigration speech from Talbot really resonated with the crowd, especially in such a red state like Missouri. They really blew me away.
