With US tariffs on the EU now being pretty certain, I hope there is some preparation for getting the Digital Sales Tax on big tech in place quickly.
The US already pulled out of the global corporate tax deal, which prevented this the last time.

The retalitory tariffs last time around did not have the intended effect ( www.nber.org/papers/w32082 ). I'd suggest solely looking at the policy effect at home from tariffs/taxes. And weakening tech monopolies is IMO a no-brainer in this area.

I think Zuckerberg just volunteered his company as target should Trump impose tariffs on Europe. A Digital Services Tax of 3% on companies now covered under DSA was on the table in 2018.
