I have both. I read the first edition a couple times. Finishing up the second edition now. It’s outstanding. Wish there was a hardcover of the second edition.

Excellent work. That’s a serious translation error.

I found the text. It is Weizen/wheat. Just a mistake in translation

That was my first guess. Or similar word that refers to a different grain. I was surprised that there wasn’t a footnote about it, so likely a translation error from German/french editions.

It’s from Jerusalem in the Time of Jesus.

So we shall replace the old rules of domination through new forms of community in society and with nature. Freedom as harmony will be the watchword once competition is replaced by cooperation, and a mutual give and take with nature comes into being, which will serve the common survival of all.

In shared freedom, the alienation between people is ended and the separation of human civilization from nature is surmounted. The earth is not intended to be subjected to human domination, and animals are not objects for human subjects; they are "fellow creatures."

Moltmann adds:

“The old familiar method of government was divide et impera
"divide and rule." The life of the united community consists of the bringing together of what would otherwise be divided.
