I still think about the discussions on character gender that happen and how you almost always see a carve out for gay men in those discussions but never one for lesbians. It is simply assumed that all women are attracted to men and want male characters. Cannot figure out why.

If I had one piece of advice to people starting writing, or smut writing in particular, it's this:
Be as kind to yourself as you would be if a close friend worked up the nerve to show you their work. You can be fair. You can be honest. But never, ever be cruel to your own work. It's poisonous.
