We're buiding https://prizeforge.com so that non-programmers and communities of users can power groups of independent software developers. We need Rust engineers! https://positron.solutions/careers
In reflection, the interesting moment from today was how at one point, I was looking at the outputs thinking, "Ah, well, you can't win them all." After cross-validating with my initial tests results, I've confirmed that the DFTs win at everything. #DSP

Small #DSP library erupting inside of MuTate. Engineering goals were hit. We will have level response everywhere. If the ear hears something, the eye will see something, on every pixel, right up to the Gabor limit and what f32 on a GPU can deliver. 👁️👂

If something abstract that was lost was not destroyed but only given up, then it actually survived all along and must only be picked up again.

Time to scroll the printer head along the paper. #audio pros should note window leakage and more. Still working on the display ramping. Ear is logorithmically sensitive, but so is the eye, so it turns out decibels are just undoing what pixels then need to redo.

Fixed a couple low-hanging bugs affecting audio response times and cleanliness. Maaaaaaaaaan. This is going to be useful. Haven't even really started tuning. @rust-lang.org #MuTate #music #audio

CPU down from ~1.8s to ~10ms without --release. CQT algorithm will offload very sweetly onto the GPU. Output ranges have not been calibrated at all. This was the first time I saw the data in pixels, in real time 🙂⏲️🌏🚀🤖🕴️

After the engineering fixtures work, after the data transforms look good, after the pipeline validates, you verify the output addressing and channel sanity, and everything from here is pretty pixels, and after 10,000ft of hiking, it finally feels like summiting has begun @vulkan.org #Vulkan #Rust

Audio engineering has entered the chat. Perceptual curves make the audio that is drawn respect what our ears hear. This graph shows us at what real sound pressure level we perceive a same loudness at every frequency.

Verified some timing behaviors to be sure the render graph will be on a solid foundation. Spin waiting and sleep jitter were the suspects under scrutiny. CPU utilization only 3.6%. This kind of work will keep #MuTate cool (or fast).

Rediscovered some long lost screenshots of an EGL demo I put together circa 2013(?) This was from early in my switch to #Android #programming when #mobile was still in its upswing. The pattern is created by instanced Conway's Game of Life simulations and feedback rendering. MuTate will be good.

Visiting yet more family in the coming week. Will be offline mostly. Might catch up with some old colleagues in the geography.

The psion spoke: Use the hypergraph. #programming

µTate has reached first triangle ▲. This concludes the less sexy side of starting that work. Because programming for gaming and machine learning is converging, the road ahead is what we call "a fertile space for ideas." @vulkan.org @rust-lang.org github.com/positron-sol...

#Vulkan #programming has got to be one of the areas where #AI drastically speeds up #development. Imagine reading off steps to bake a cake, but for a specific kitchen, down to opening the cabinets. Now imagine you need to write a recipe for an unknown kitchen. That's learn-using Vulkan.

Feeling out the UI for a social reasoning prototype. Biggest differences.... It's not one-person-one-vote. It also can react a lot faster than ML because there is no re-training. The users have much more direct control, which is fine for us because we won't sell attention.

This is the new stacked look on mobile. Trying to keep from having too many custom media queries. The UI for dynamic use of funds will be mobile first. Last release had some particularly bad mobile bugs where people couldn't see the stream list on phones, so no wonder how things went 📉

Going to eat a 김밥 and then roll this out. CSS updates, new streams, and accompanying post on our changes of direction are all about to drop. positron.solutions/articles/hie...

There's a lot of great hikes here. Two cities in a country of all mountains. It's basically all hiking. #busan #korea #fall

Behold my elvish. This is relatively intelligible. My notes often are littered with little fragments of half-baked drawings. Ostensibly they can mean nothing, but usually by the time I re-read them, the #offline cooking leaps out of the oven as a completed chain of thought.

As soon as I write the initial use of funds and support dynamic terms for each stream, I will test and begin deploying the update. We're going to try and recruit our first 1k users and a first co-founder this week 🏴‍☠️

Support for multiple streams and requisite infrastructure moving along. #PrizeForge

Always was a fan. Architecture went this direction all over Singapore, partly driven by necessity. Does the market get what the market wants or does the market choose from what is available, which becomes what the market "wants"? The intentional economy will answer. #simcity #gaming

Welcome emails? Email based registration?!! Setting the stage to release multiple channels tomorrow! For now, time for me to crash. I'm feeling good about the changes to the home page. I'm not saying it's good. I'm saying I like it more than I did. #feedback and #ample #criticism welcome 🤠

Failed over our DBs and took a manual backup. Sometime this week, I will create some downtime and to a recovery from backup.

The combination of being pretty specific most of the time and pretty broad sometimes creates a sharp focus that still suffers less from tunnel vision. While the Laplace distribution I'm talking about doesn't have a cool letter, the Laplacian does #∇
