This is such a perfect ending. Turalyon is so resigned to Alleria's cycle of abandoning him and returning... but all of this might have been a step too far, and the rot is slowly setting in.

What an amazing character piece, I think this is my favorite novel from Christie Golden.

Turalyon shows up to Light's Hope as basically a celebrity at the end after the ceremony, I love how much they make his pleasantries forced and covering up his pain
November 25, 2025 at 5:34 AM
Yeah, talk shit to him Arator lol

I've got a new male human paladin to hate whenever I want, thank you Blood Ties
November 25, 2025 at 5:31 AM
Arator also gets what kind of seems like a participation trophy from the order lol

Epilogue is back in Light's Hope, neat little updated version of the knighthood ceremony for the Silver Hand, alongside Arator's internal thoughts on his dislike for the order

God, it's crazy how much I've come to love Alleria and her mess compared to my thoughts during 11.0. They've done so well with her since then.

This scene is just heartwrenching for both Arator and Alleria.

This book sells Arator's tragedy *so* much better than even most stuff in Midnight does
November 25, 2025 at 5:23 AM
Okay BIG spoilers. This twist I did *not* expect, Alleria giving Turalyon back his ring and leaving him. It aligns so perfectly with her character though.
November 25, 2025 at 5:22 AM
Arator doing an excellent job at summarizing Alleria's core flaw lol, I'm so glad my analysis hasn't been totally off-base this whole time
November 25, 2025 at 5:20 AM
*Very* heavy set-up for Arator as the Child of Light and Shadow here, 'seeing what his parents could not'
November 25, 2025 at 5:19 AM
I have to say, Sarothar is a super interesting take on the eredar.

It feels a lot like what Dreadlords *used* to be before Shadowlands, so I'm glad the Legion remnants still have these kinds of characters to fill that role.
November 25, 2025 at 5:16 AM
Oh neat, they're bringing back the designation of Eredar *Lord*.

I always disliked how much WoD/Legion muddled the importance of the man'ari models by sticking them EVERYWHERE, so this is really cool.
November 25, 2025 at 5:14 AM
I love that Turalyon IMMEDIATELY recognizes that it isn't really Arator the moment he insults his mother
November 25, 2025 at 5:09 AM
This description of Alleria using her void form is SO much cooler than her just turning purple and shooting void arrows like in game
November 25, 2025 at 5:06 AM
Spoilers again, but here's the inevitable wedding-interrupting twist.

I highly recommend people actually read the book for this, because it is built up to SO well.
November 25, 2025 at 5:04 AM
Alonsus and Jubeka were invited to the wedding!
November 25, 2025 at 5:02 AM
Vereesa referred to as leader of the high elves, I know that's right 😌
November 25, 2025 at 4:58 AM
So yeah Turalyon straight up just doesn't remember most of what happened when the Light took him over.

I do hope they don't use this to remove narrative accountability for his character in future stories.
November 25, 2025 at 4:53 AM
Vereesa and Lor'themar are quite amicable now apparently, enough to be singing Lirath's songs together
November 25, 2025 at 4:43 AM
Okay the insane timeline of this wedding being scheduled TWO DAYS after the proposal aside, this is a really beautiful ring, it's perfect for Alleria narratively
November 25, 2025 at 4:38 AM
I'm sure this isn't foreshadowing *anything* at all
November 25, 2025 at 4:32 AM
Khadgar is Turalyon's best man, cute
November 25, 2025 at 4:31 AM
Oh this is both sweet and sad, Vereesa giving Alleria the Thalassian traditions she couldn't have because she had no family
November 25, 2025 at 4:29 AM
I love getting to see those little moments of Vereesa having been Arator's *actual* caretaker, and the sorrow Alleria feels over it
November 25, 2025 at 4:25 AM
Giramar and Galadin are here! They're not just phantom text box mentions!
