Wakeham - A lot of escapees from the moth trap this morning when one of the sides lifted in the wind. Ended up with 45 moths of 21 species, including 2 firsts for me on Portland, a Wax Moth (Galleria mellonella) and a Four-spotted Footman (Lithosia quadra)

Part 2 of 2.

So here I remain in Southampton General Hospital on a 6-week course of antibiotics to fight the infections.
It is hoped that I will be transferred to Dorchester Hospital very soon, where they can carry on the treatment until I'm well enough to return home and see my Ted again.

Wakeham Meadow this afternoon and only my second Black Mining Bee (Andrena pilipes) I have seen on Portland. This is a nationally scarce species in the UK and is probably why the last one I saw was in June 2018 at Church Ope Cove.

There are a few more photos and videos of the Hoopoe along Penn's Weare on my Blog.
Including one video, where it's spooked by a leaf, jumps up in the air and raises its crest.
