I guess it’s almost time for my annual “drive to Anchorage in an ice storm hellscape” trip, and this time I’ll be signing books at Title Wave on Saturday with my @porphyrypress.bsky.social pressmate John Messick. Come see us if you can? Send road reports? 😬

David James's insightful and positive book review of Erica Watson's GHOSTS OF DISTANT TREES appears in both the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner and Anchorage Daily News today. It's gratifying to see such a careful and astute take on this book.

There's no place like Alaska to write, and few residencies that uplift women writers from anywhere like @storyknife.bsky.social does.
1/2...
There's a woman who is smashed flat between the demands of her job, caretaking, & the crush of domestic labor, making it almost impossible for her to find the time to write. Will you help her devote one month to writing so that she can tell the story that only she can tell?

Epic, actually.
Column: Martha Stewart’s first book, “Entertaining,” is being reissued exactly as it first appeared 43 years ago.

In each copy, a note from Martha will say that nothing has been changed including “some words and phrases that are no longer in use.”
Column | After 101 books, Martha Stewart is re-pitching her first one to Gen Z
Stewart is re-releasing her groundbreaking first book, “Entertaining.” I fell hard for the book in 1982, but I wonder now, does it hold up?

Thrilled to see an essay excerpted from Maya Jewell Zeller's forthcoming RAISED BY FERNS (March 2026, Porphyry Press) published by @cincinnatireview.bsky.social!
"I’m drawn back to these places, these ruins, because they form the imagistic, psychological core of me, but I also don’t want them to become anyone else’s porn. Take your camera elsewhere, part of me whispers"

Now on our site, a craft essay by Maya Jewell Zeller; link in thread
