Trees Lounge also suggests that recovery isn't possible for some (and is the film that most reminds me of so many regulars during my time bartending in various places; gahhhh, I went to so many funerals).

Also GIF-less.

Poodle were definitely a star attraction in the first half of the 20th century. They were the dog of choice for a number of stars.

Here's Pauline Starke with her dogs..

The murder rate for whites in South Africa is actually quite low. See the AI summary below (which is confirmed in other places).

It's that time of the term when I cast about for tiny prizes for the student who is voted "most helpful classmate" by their peers + runners-up.

I found this delightful bunting of Buster Keaton on Etsy from, I think, The Cook.

Also learned that "bunting" = term for "festive decoration"/garland.

just the state; not the actual county

Did you watch Gentleman Jack? So much of the series is about clothing, and the costuming is sumptuous. Here's Suranne Jones as Anne Lister.

This is my favorite sentiment about AI art.

I bought stickers from Khallion on Etsy, an actual human being from MA, who makes art. www.etsy.com/shop/khallio...

"Any Gogol is good Gogol" should be on a tshirt with one of the woodcut-ish covers of one of his books.

one of my doodles is probably of the Labrador variety, and she has a cast-iron stomach (esp. compared to the std poodles I've had).

She is really stoic, 'though, so maybe I just can't tell.

Here she is with her giant, Labrador paws. Her chest is broad and equally impressive.

Does Harry Hawkbit--that dandelion-impersonating-demon-weed--taste as good? 'Cause I've got lots.

I still have my sensible-but-colorful John Fluevog Mary Janes with a slightly flared heel. Very comfortable. I am 5'10", 'though, so stilettos have never been a good choice.

Not necessarily my favorite but one I've watched a few times lately.

When I was little, if my parents couldn't find a babysitter, they'd drag me along to the drive in. I'd usually fall asleep before the main attraction started, but I have one really traumatic memory of waking to see Tony Curtis strangle a woman: Richard Fletcher's 1968 film,The Boston Strangler.

For all the TCM crowd: I recently had a moment with Eddie Muller, and he observed that my foot was banged up; I replied that my dog tripped me. He noted he wisely has cats.

Utterly charming man.
