I just watched King Kong vs Godzilla (1962).

King Kong taking mid-fight naps might be the most relatable thing I’ve ever seen.

I watched this classic a few days ago and can't get it out of my head. A film from 1943 made for our times.

A ★★★★★ review of The Ox-Bow Incident (1943)
Holy fuck! Of course, I knew about the reputation of William Wellman's bleak film noir western "The Ox-Bow Incident", but I had no idea it went THAT grim. At a time when the Donald Trump administratio...

Just finished "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle".

Overall it's a good game. The first two thirds you could call even great (Vatican & Egypt).

The Siam level dragged, though. It would have needed a fresh, new gameplay idea/component.

Troy Baker as Indiana was perfect.

The ending had problems.

I don't mind the somewhat problematic digital makeup of Tarkin in #RogueOne because Guy Henry deliveres a full-fledged, chilling performance that builds on and yet slightly differs from Peter Cushing's portrayal of the character.

My hot take on #Andor is: The plotting of this season is deeply flawed, while the execution (especially the acting) is often exceptionally good.
The praise for the show is overstated, because it feels so refreshing and exciting to see what can be done within a Star Wars framework.

I liked the Star Wars version of the "Wannsee Conference" in #Andor, and the juxtaposition of a cold, calculating, and very effective facist regime with a bunch of dumb, bickering rebels fighting each other instead of the great galactic threat.

Why did no one tell me that "Conclave" is just as campy as "Showgirls"? It's such a delicious, stupid movie. Pure utter dogshit but sooo entertaining. People will be baffled for decades to come why and how it was nominated for "Best Picture".
18/10 stars.

RIP Gene Hackman. One of the all-time greats. This is one of the rare celebrity deaths - just like Robin Williams - that hit hard.

I'm seeing a lot of comments about people not "understanding" David Lynch's movies.
If you stop trying to understand them but instead just begin to feel/experience them you're already doing allright.

Saw a lot of shorts this year. New movies less so because of prolonged backpain.
