Invasive fish, but they are all over the place now, so there's no turning back.

This is the species that was touted as an easy aquaculture food fish, which they are. Tilapia are sold in lots of grocery stores (e.g. Public etc.)

You may be right. The flowers are only open early in the day, then close up. I hope to gather some seeds this year. Record lows for the next two days, so i may have to protect it overnight, in order to facilitate seed formation.

It is, and in bloom right now. I have it growing outside it’s natural range ( in North Florida) and I thought it had died out a year or two ago, but it showed up this year in a different pot with another plant!
