PhD Candidate - lncRNA & transcriptomics in asthma • 🇦🇺• Nutrition & Food Sci • 3D art / Blender 3D • All views are my own • She/her
Techniques I used to explain my methods and results from single cell RNA seq:
- using analogies (my soup analogy was well received!)
- any essential jargon (less than 5 words throughout) was clearly defined
- pictures rather than text
- palm cards so I didn’t slip out of lay language

Over the years, I've collected a fair pile of sources for high-quality images to share with students & colleagues, esp. those who ask me about where to find accurate, science-focused clip art. (Don't knock it--clip art is useful for a lot of reasons!) So, here's my current list: buff.ly/c6LHmGG /end
Even if you say "I'm not an artist," it's worth a little effort to create compelling, accessible science visuals

Profesh: Previously looked at DNAme, vitamin D and food allergies in kids. I have a couple of publications related to this 📝 but that was many moons ago.

Profresh Adjacent: I aspire to be a sciartist but I don’t actually try?? Also aspire to ✅ scicomms (visually). Working on it.
